Real moments from Journey events and the people who make them matter

How do I register for the event?
To register, a parent or guardian should click the registration button at the top of the page to open and complete the Welcome Form. Once the form is submitted, the parent or guardian can sign their teen up for events by clicking on the event of interest.
Will there be a waitlist for the event?
Yes, if the event reaches full capacity, we will maintain a waitlist.
What should I bring to the event?
Please bring your registration confirmation and any materials you need for the sessions you plan to attend. The event signups will list the materials needed.
Do participants need to be Catholic to participate in Journey activities?
No. While the ministry and structures of Journey are rooted in Catholic teaching, we welcome teens of all backgrounds who are open to exploring and growing in faith.
What if my teen is unsure about their faith?
Scripture reminds us that faith without “works” is dead. It is natural—and completely acceptable—to have questions, experience doubt, and seek a deeper understanding of the faith and the Church. Journey is a place where teens can ask questions, explore their beliefs, and grow at their own pace in a supportive environment.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or special health needs?
We strive to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and medical needs to the best of our ability. Please include this information during registration so we can plan accordingly.
Who can register for programs?
Programs are open to teens in the second semester of 8th grade and in high school. A parent or legal guardian must complete registration and consent forms for participation.
What are the expectations for teen behavior?
Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. We expect all participants to treat others with respect and follow program guidelines.
How are behavior concerns handled?
We use a restorative approach. If issues arise, leaders will address them with the teen and include parents or guardians to support growth and accountability.
How do you ensure a safe environment for teens?
All staff and volunteers are compliant with the standards and mandates for child protection outlined in the Charter for the Protection of Youth and Children (USCCB) and Archdiocese of Chicago Office for the Protection of Youth and Children.
How can parents stay informed?
We communicate through email, newsletters, and event updates. Parents are encouraged to reach out anytime with questions or concerns.
Are scholarships or financial assistance available?
Yes. When funds are available, we strive to offer financial assistance to ensure every teen has the opportunity to participate, regardless of financial situation.
Will participation help with service hours?
Yes. Our community service activities offer opportunities for teens to earn service hours while making a meaningful impact.
What if I’m unable to complete event registration online?
We understand that some youth participants and their parents or guardians may face challenges accessing online systems. If you are unable to register through our website due to a disability, limited access to technology, language barriers, or any other reason, we are here to help.
You may request assistance or complete your registration by contacting us at: hello@chicagojourney.org
Upon request, we can provide registration materials in accessible formats or guide you through the process by phone. We are committed to offering reasonable accommodations to ensure meaningful access to registration and full participation in all program activities.
